Looking and working beautifully is this lovely Summilux lens which marries the atmospheric, vintage charm of a classic leica lens, with the sharpness of a modern aspherical example

Optical qualities: buttery bokeh, warmish, classic colour rendition, neutral contrast, tack sharp when stopped down

There is not a spot of fungus or haze to be seen, and optical output is beautiful as shown in the sample images provided

This lens weighs just 320 grams making it an excellent choice as a daily carry due to its compact and lightweight form factor

Filter thread size is 46mm which is fairly standardised amongst the Summilux range

Focus is of course buttery smooth at all distances, and aperture clicks are positively distinct and in half stops with no contaminants on the blades

The serial number starting 397 dates this lens to somewhere between the 2004-2010 range, which is the later half of this lens’s production, so any early production foibles would’ve been corrected by this time

This specific example has been tested and we were not able to discern any sign of focus shift which is sometimes an issue with these lenses

This lens comes boxed with the original lens hood and caps, as well as the original leather pouch. Everything is completely mint
